Pray for baby Noah

My cousin Cassy (with her husband Josh) just had a baby boy on the 27th, and apparently he is having a hard time breathing. He's been transported by helicopter to Children's Hospital in OKC. Please pray for this little family, and especially this little man!

Just a quick note to say

I love Sarah Palin. Just listened to her speech, great choice. She even made me like McCain a little more.

Sick.

I've been fighting a nasty cold for the last couple of days, which is actually horrible timing because they're in the middle of remodeling the sanctuary and Bryan is the coordinator of all of that, so he's been gone all week and all weekend. Eden has been an angel though, of course. I'm trying to kick it on my own without taking any medication, even though I think Sudafed would be OK. It's sort of like at the beginning of pregnancy when I didn't want to take anything for fear of harming her. If I can knock it out without it, I think I'd rather that.

But I did manage to get some pictures on Snapfish!

Rest

I am so grateful for the rest God's given me over the last few days. It has been a whirlwind few months, with finals, graduation, the end of pregnancy, having Eden, studying for the bar, taking the bar, and our trip home. But thankfully I am at home now with very little to do but be Eden's mommy and Bryan's wife. I love it.

Yesterday I was super domestic - I did laundry, cleaned the house, and even baked cookies. Seriously. How fun is that? And when I wasn't doing one of those things I was getting smiles and coos from a ridiculously adorable little girl. And then last night two of my good girlfriends came over for our first Bible study meeting, and it was really great. I am so looking forward to this study, and to getting to know these two awesome ladies better.

I woke up this morning rested, hopeful, and excited for the day. It's been awhile since I could say that!

Beach Beauty

So - last week was a crazy whirlwind, as it always is when we go home. Eden got to meet a whole slew of people, including both Bryan's and my families, and enjoyed hanging out with her BFF Audrey. I took a ton of pictures but it was too hard to pick a few to share. I'll Snapfish them later when I have time.

Today Eden and I went to the beach with Kel and Bella, and had an amazing time. Eden got to stand in the ocean for the first time!

And - back at "camp," in the little baby sun tent that we borrowed from some friends, Eden experienced another first. Twice. And the second time I caught it on video!!

Um, I'm sorry... what? Rolling over? She's just barely TWO MONTHS OLD! Maybe it was a fluke... twice...

Vital Statistics

Eden had a doctor's visit today... She is:
  • 7 weeks, 3 days old.
  • 11 lbs, 8 oz (82th percentile)
  • 23 1/2 inches long (94th percentile - I'm sorry, what? You said my baby was tall?)
  • And her head is hanging around 50th percentile. I didn't get the measurement.
Also she is now really picking her head up on tummy time, and pretty constantly bearing weight on her legs. Strong baby girl!! She now loves bathtime, though she is a bit less fond of being taken out of the bath.

AND she almost rolled over from her tummy to her back on the doctor's exam table today. She got about halfway there and gave it up. The doc, Daddy, and I were rooting for her, but she decided today's not the day. Unfortunately soon after that the mean shot man, Tom, came in and stuck her three times. Daddy did surprisingly well given his needle phobia, but Eden screamed until her face was purple. Then when Tom left she was just fine. Mean old Tom.

Anyway, check out this cutie pie Chunky Monkey:

Awesome

I haven't looked at books or flash cards (except to return my BarBri books to get my deposit back) all day. And I haven't felt guilty at all.

Better still, here's what I get to do all the time now (here, the night after Day 1):

On an unrelated note, Bryan is considering a tattoo on his lower arm. He decided to do a test run in Sharpie. Input? You can see it below the sweatband... it's a cross with white letters which say "in Christ alone" in Latin. (BTW - Allie we might need a bit of help making sure the translation is correct. Especially if he gets it on his arm in indelible ink...)

It's over!

It was really long. And difficult. And exhausting. But the bar exam is behind me!! Let's now just pray that I passed it so I don't have to do this again in February! I promise I'm not going to give a whole run-down, but suffice it to say that divine intervention happened. I did NOT study secured transactions, and guess what subject had its own question? Fortuitously, Meg and I had gone over secured transactions in the car just before the exam, and I ended up doing OK. (Best advice ever = treat a security interest like a mortgage). It actually was amazing how much we went over in the car just before that ended up on the exam.

There was a lot I missed on the essays, I know, but there was a lot I totally rocked. Also I made up some law (when I didn't know the rule), which I found fun. And I don't think it's too bad because 2/3 of the points come from issue spotting and the analysis. Only 1/3 come from getting the law right. And, hey, I might have made it up right! :)

Anyway, it's over, and I am deliriously happy to just be a mom for the next few months. I'm looking forward to spending a few days with Meg, who leaves town (forever!! EEK!) on Monday. Then we'll be getting ready to head to Dallas and back to Oklahoma to introduce Eden to the fam. That is going to be awesome. I can't WAIT.
